Upgrades to CPKN’s Learning Platform

On Monday, January 8, our CPKN team will be performing an upgrade to the Learning Management System (LMS). As a result, there may be slight disruptions in the LMS from 7 – 11 a.m. AST.

These upgrades will bring minimal changes to the user interface (UI).

Please note, CPKN staff will be readily available for the entire week to ensure as smooth of an upgrade as possible. Should an issue arise, please contact support@cpkn.ca.

The Upgrades

URL and IP Address Change 
  • If your organization directly linkl to the LMS from your website, intranet, etc., we strongly recommend that you manually update the URL.
    • E.g.: https://lms.cpkn.ca/TPS will become tps.lms.cpkn.ca
  • CPKN will be redirecting all URLs to ensure a smooth transition.

Updated Customizations for Page Editor
  • Easier to use UI.
  • Auto-saving every 60 seconds to avoid losing content.
  • Easier to use drag and drop functionality.
  • Easier to use column layout functionality.
  • Ability to edit/move/copy multiple elements at once.
  • Simplified process of adding media to a page.
  • Media library is available for media casts.
Other Added Benefits 
  • Competencies can be automatically assigned to groups and courses within the LMS.
  • New customizations for the LMS menu, such as setting audience-based tabs.
    • E.g.: you will be able to have a menu item that only Sworn Users can see.
  • An improved layout for the number of in-person sessions visible. 
  • Increased limitations available for in-person session registrations, with the “No Registration Possible” setting.
